Beneficial Microorganisms as a Sustainable Alternative for Mitigating Biotic Stresses in Crops

چکیده

Nowadays, population growth, the global temperature increase, and appearance of emerging diseases in important crops generate uncertainty regarding world food security. The use agrochemicals has been “go-to” solution for control phytopathogenic microorganisms, such as Magnaporte oryzae, causing blast disease rice other cereals; Botrytis cinerea, gray mold over 500 plant species; Puccinia spp., rust cereals. However, their excessive harmed human health, well ecosystems (contaminating water, contributing to soil degradation); besides, phytopathogens can develop resistance them. inoculation growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPMs) is a sustainable strategy increasing yield quality mitigating biotic stresses. Likewise, PGPMs, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Trichoderma, trigger series signals reactions that lead induction systemic resistance, mechanism by which plants react microorganism stimulation activating defense system, resulting protection against future pathogen attack. These mechanisms help mitigate stresses threaten Thus, study these at molecular, transcriptomic, metabolomic levels indispensable elucidate how affect globally crops.

Beneficial Soil Microorganisms: A Key for Sustainable Agriculture

Microorganisms play a major role in the plant-soil relationship, particularly in the rhizosphere, i.e. the interface between root and soil. Rhizosphere is strongly influenced by the root, through its productions (rhizodeposition) and its respiration, as well as uptake of ions and minerals. In this environment, plant beneficial microorganisms are of peculiar importance: they stimulate plant grow...

Transgenic crops with an improved resistance to biotic stresses. A review

Introduction. Pests, diseases and weeds (biotic stresses) are significant limiting factors for crop yield and production. However, the limitations associated with conventional breeding methods necessitated the development of alternative methods for improving new varieties with higher resistance to biotic stresses. Molecular techniques have developed applicable methods for genetic transformation...

Technologies for Beneficial Microorganisms Inocula Used as Biofertilizers

The increasing need for environmentaly friendly agricultural practices is driving the use of fertilizers based on beneficial microorganisms. The latter belong to a wide array of genera, classes, and phyla, ranging from bacteria to yeasts and fungi, which can support plant nutrition with different mechanisms. Moreover, studies on the interactions between plant, soil, and the different microorgan...

Beneficial Microorganisms: Countering Microbephobia

“Microbes run the world. It’s that simple.” (Committee on Metagenomics, 2007). Microbial communities make the essential elements of oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur available for other life on our planet. Without microbial decomposer communities, life would be smothered in dead organisms. Microorganisms also carry out almost half of the photosynthesis on our planet, increasing oxygen levels...
